How can I get information on Paine College Events I am not a graduate of Paine College, so can I join the Alumni Association? How do I become a member of the Alumni Association? Membership FAQs Why should I join the Alumni Association since I don’t live in Augusta and can’t take advantage of many of the Augusta area discounts? Membership in the Alumni
Association offers exclusive invitations to events in your local area, and many
national discounts. Since the Alumni Association does not receive funding from
the College or any other source, dues are necessary to fund all Alumni
Association sponsored activities and events and to cover the operating cost of
the Association. I
am not a graduate of Paine College, so can I join the Alumni Association? Yes, The Paine College National
Alumni Association welcomes friends of the program who wish to support the
College. The Alumni Association does not require members to be graduates of the
College. How
do I become a member of the Alumni Association? To join the Alumni Association, visit our membership page. I
think I am already a member of the Alumni Association. How do I find out if my
membership is current? Please call the Executive Secretary at info@painecollegealumni.org
What is the role of PCNAA and Paine College? PCNAA is a private not-for- profit that was incorporate to help the College. The president of PCNAA is a permanent member of Paine’s Board of Trustees. In this role, PCNAA gets an opportunity to help govern the affairs of the College.
What is the mission of PCNAA? The mission of PCNAA is to financially support the College and to provide personal and professional development for its members.
How often does PCNAA meet? The National Alumni Association meets once per year. It is called the Annual Meeting of PCNAA which meets in May in Augusta, Georgia.
Does the association have a board and how often does it meet? The association Board of Directors meets three times a year to manage the association business.
What is the PCNAA Town Hall Meeting? The Town Hall Meeting replaces the mid- year association meet to allow the membership to dialogue, to get updates, to make recommendations and to voice their opinions. The Board and officers are required to conduct this meet and report the findings to the associations.
Are alumni required to pay dues? All alumni are expected to pay $50.00 annually to help support PCNAA. Or you may pay $500.00 for a life membership. Most or all the monies given to PCNAA are tax deductible.
What is role of the local PCNAA chapters? All local chapters are administrative arms of the national alumni association. They are required to pay an annual assessment, support national programs and develop local activities that support the College and their membership. Additionally all chapters are required by Constitutions and IRS regulation to do the Following 1. Submit a Constitution and reports annually to PCNAA 2. To maintain financial records and minutes. 3. To attend Board meetings 4. To ensure that all local members can duly participate in its meeting and activities. Does PCNAA provide scholarships to Paine Students? Yes. For the 2007-2008 academic years, the association gave the College $6,300.00 for scholarships. Additionally, some of the local chapters have provided scholarship support for students at Paine. For the 2008-2009 The association has agreed to provide 5 scholarships to the College. If I decide to write a check to PCNAA, should it be made payable to Paine College or PCNAA and where do I send it? All checks should be payable to PCNAA and mailed to the Executive Secretary or Treasurer at P.O.Box 311945-Atlanta, Ga-31131. |
